Questions we hear most
Do I need a referral?
In New Mexico you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and Medicare asks your doctor to sign your plan of care. We tell you what applies before your first visit.
Does my plan cover this, and do you take Medicare?
We bill Medicare and many other kinds of plans. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your benefits and call you before your first visit.
What if I pay myself?
We give you a written estimate before your first visit. See how fees work for the details.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
A first visit is about an hour, with a physical therapist. After that, the same therapist sees you where possible.
How many visits will I need?
That depends on what your therapist finds, what you want to do again and how your body responds. Your therapist talks it through with you at the first visit.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear what you can move in, and shoes you can walk in. Bring your cane or walker, your glasses and a list of your medicines and doctors.
Will it hurt?
We work within what you can tolerate. Tell us if something does not feel right and we change the plan.
What happens at a home visit?
Your therapist comes with a bag of equipment, looks at how you move through your home and practices the steps you use every day. Medicare Part B can cover outpatient physical therapy at home if you are not getting home health at the same time.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. Family members are welcome at the clinic and at home. Your therapist can show them how to help.
Can I have my visit in Spanish?
Yes. Elodia, Genaro and Maritza treat in Spanish. Tell us your language when you call and we match you.
Still have a question?
Call, text or write. A person answers, in English or Spanish.
